As temperatures rise, it’s important to help your pets stay safe, cool, and comfortable. Whether you’re spending time in the backyard, heading to the park, or taking a walk around the block, here are a few tips to keep your furry friend safe this summer:

1. Walk During Cooler Hours: Early morning or late evening walks help prevent overheating and burned paws. Pavement can be much hotter than the air temperature—if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.

2. Keep Water Available: Always provide clean, fresh water at home and on the go. Collapsible travel bowls and pet-safe water bottles are great for hikes or road trips.

3. Watch for Signs of Overheating: Panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, or red gums can signal heatstroke. If you notice these signs, move your pet to a cooler area and contact your vet immediately.

4. Never Leave Pets in a Hot Car: Even with the windows cracked, the temperature inside a car can become dangerous within minutes.

5. Shade is a Must: Whether you’re at the park or the beach, provide a shady spot where your pet can rest and cool down.
